A good friend of mine pointed out to me that I am in the top 1000 twitterers based on my number of followers at Twitterholic.com (#934 as of the date of this post). My twitter ranking may go up but more than likely it will go down. Why? Because twitter is a way to engage others and sheer numbers is not the answer to building a relationship.

Actually I have found that following to many people has made it more difficult to cut through the noise and find opportunities for engagement. People are able to get through the clutter of MLM spammers and habitual link droppers and enjoy doing it, I have a hard time doing it even using tweetdeck to help manage the noise.

One of my downfalls in enjoying my twitter experience as much as I possibly can is the refusal to drop people I am following if they are following me. That has now changed. If they are pushing the latest greatest make money online or MLM product I am dropping you like a bad habit. If they use the aberration ” TweetMyBlog” as their only source of “connecting” they are gone.

This blog post may also cause others to stop following me as well. I can live with it and if it pushes me out of the top 1000 life will go on.

I would love to hear your tips on cutting through the twitter..

BTW .. Follow me on Twitter if you don’t fit the demographic above.

Sorry to all of my readers that it has been so long between updates. In the very near future you will see a very new look here and a realignment of all of my online properties. I have been real busy with moving and working with DrivingSales. It just is taking more time to get everything done than planned, it always does.

Tyler and Alex are both playing football and started a new school. Preston is as wiry energetic three year old as you would ever meet. We just bought a new home and I will have a real office again.

Other than that don’t have much to update you on until next time….

Today we had the orientation at school for Tyler and Alex at school. It does look like they have a couple of teachers that will be a good mix for them. Unfortunately the youngest child, who is only three, is wondering when he gets to start school as well.

The youthful anticipation of a child brings and the lack of understanding that they display is what reminds me of how precious this time in their life really is and it was in ours. Sometime I look for ways to to recapture those moments in whatever way I possibly can through them.

Today I found myself helping the boys create some mischief in the grocery store and mom was not very pleased at first. We started a game of placing things in the buggy that we wanted that were not necessarily items that were on the shopping list. If you are a parent your kids have done this to you, if not you are wound way to tight. I just joined the party!!

We were able to get to the checkout line with some goodies us guys can really appreciate. As I sit here eating this bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup, sprinkles, whip cream and cherries on top it makes me remember why we don’t need to rush growing up and sometimes need to take the opportunity to try to recapture that age of innocence even if it is through our little ones.

My 6 year old son Alexander, who is in kindergarten, was assigned the task of learning the four seasons. As good parents should we help our children with their school work. When he was asked what the four seasons are his first answer was HUNTING SEASON. We died laughing. One thing I must let people know is that I am not a hunter never have been one and really have no intention of taking it up. The only place he could have gotten that from is school. That is ok. It is one of the benefits of living in Rural Coastal GA. Your children are exposed to thing such as shucking oysters, wearing shorts in December and the barrage of hunters driving into the woods every morning prior to and during hunting season.

I have recently entered a strong debate in a niche that I am not really a part of. The make money niche of online marketing. There has been a lot of hoopla about downline integrity and the formation of the Downline Integrity Brigade and usually a debate like that I would extricate myself, but I could not refuse. Hindsight being 20/20 I may not of reacted in an such an overly verbose stance but I do believe in standing up for what is right and cannot stand it when people take shots at others because they disagree with their opinion.

The bad thing is it caused me to lose some focus on other projects and now I must play catch up. Sigh…

Well today was the first day of school for Tyler and Alex. Tyler entered the fourth grade and Alex kindergarten. The day started very uneventful waking up kids to start their new schedule was just as expected. They did not want to get moving at 6:00 am, but we made it. Me being the loyal Dad I escorted the children to school and met their teachers. I was not able to to attend the open house due to work. So this was my first time meeting them. All was well. The teachers seemed pleasant enough and the kids are in good hands.

Fast forward to 4:00 pm. The children rode the bus home from school, my wife was disappointed that she missed them getting off the bus but Granny was there to meet them. Alex on his first day came home with a on his daily report! His first day of school and he gets the dreaded sad face. My wife was shocked. She called me to tell me about it. Our children have never been in daycare so this was really Alex’s first day on his own in a strange environment. Apparently, Alex was making a disruption in the bathroom playing under the stalls and being loud. Once I heard that I just chuckled. At least he did not bop some other kid in the head for using his crayons. So all in all it was a good first day of school and the boys seem to be doing fine and Alex will adjust to the structure of school in due time.

My day at Carl Gregory Chrysler Dodge Hyundai was a real stressful day too. I just love it when grown men can dish it out but they cannot take it in return. I am not going to give specifics but when you have to interact with other people on a daily basis and there is a mutual reliance for production of income choose your words wisely. Most of the time it is not the message it is the delivery of the message. If you want to stress a point with someone who is not sure of the procedure don’t attempt to denigrate in the process.

“That is all I got to say about that” – Forest Gump
